Ala Amoachi, Esq.
Picture
Attorney Profile:
Ala Amoachi is deeply committed to her immigrant clients and goes above and beyond to ensure they receive effective, high-quality legal representation.

Her passion for immigration law is rooted in her own personal journey as an immigrant. She arrived in the United States at the age of eight and was granted asylum after spending much of her childhood in deportation proceedings. Through this experience, she came to understand that the antidote to the fear and anxiety inherent in the immigration process is knowledge. As a result, she prioritizes keeping her clients informed, prepared, and empowered at every stage of their case.

Ms. Amoachi earned her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice in 2006 and graduated from Hofstra Law School in 2009, where she concentrated in International Law. From early on, she aspired to become an immigration attorney and was actively involved in Hofstra’s Political Asylum and Immigration Practice.

She now brings over 14 years of experience in immigration law, handling a wide range of matters including political asylum, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS), cancellation of removal, family-based immigration, U visas, VAWA, NACARA, and more. Ms. Amoachi is fluent in Spanish.

Ms. Amoachi employs a trauma-informed and compassionate approach, particularly in asylum cases and matters involving children. She takes great pride in serving as an advocate and ally for her clients as they present their unique and often difficult stories before immigration officers and judges. She practices law with the highest standards of compassion, integrity, ethics, and honesty.

Sehaam N. Hassan, Esq.

Attorney Profile:
Sehaam N. Hassan earned her Juris Doctor degree from Hofstra Law School, where she participated in several legal clinics, including the Asylum and Juvenile Defense Clinic. It was there that she discovered her passion for assisting immigrants and asylum seekers. Becoming a voice for individuals who have endured persecution and oppression became a central focus of Sehaam’s work as an attorney.

Sehaam’s professional experience also includes representing clients as an attorney with the Suffolk County Legal Aid Criminal Defense Office, as well as serving as an Asylum Officer with the Department of Homeland Security for three and a half years. In that role, she conducted asylum interviews and adjudicated asylum applications, giving her valuable insight into the asylum process from both advocacy and government perspectives.

Born and raised in New York, Sehaam is a first-generation American of Pakistani descent. Growing up in an immigrant family, she deeply understands and values the struggles many individuals face in seeking a lawful path in the United States.
